Account Director

An Account Director for Autumn Communications serves as a liaison between the company and the account teams. Account Directors are responsible for implementation of client campaigns through creation and execution of overall strategy, as well as new business development. The ideal candidate is an established leader viewed as a seasoned professional, respected by senior clients and has a proven track record that demonstrates team growth by leading, maintaining and winning new business.

Key Areas of Responsibility: 

  • Act as the team leader daily, working closely with senior account members to ensure teams are managed efficiently, meeting client goals, while abiding by company practices and standards. 

  • Maintain and maximize relationships with top-level national print, online, and broadcast media, pitching, writing and securing media coverage alongside the teams. 

  • Demonstrate commitment to industry, agency and clients by mastering industry knowledge and trends, understanding and clients’ business. 

  • Serve as senior point of contact for clients; ensuring quality work from the team in order to meet/exceed expectations and maintain client retention.

  • Oversee teams in managing various communications strategies in alignment with client objectives; identify and resolve when strategies aren’t working or the situations change.

  • Monitor client documents to consistently evolve with changing goals, milestones and achievements, as well as making sure account teams are pitching appropriately and regularly. 

  • Effectively and regularly communicate with internal team members and clients. 

  • Participate in and or lead creative brainstorming sessions for the agency. 

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of, and be conversant in, assigned client’s business, products, industry and competitive landscape.  

  • Mentor junior, mid-level, and senior staff by managing the review process of all direct reports.
